Nathan and Ehren were fantastic to deal with. Space was perfect for our birthday party of about 20 people. We used their great sound system and had dancing, food, decorations and lots of laughs. A great time was had by all, made easier by the accommodating nature of our hosts as well as the fun, inviting space. Thank you Nathan & Ehren!

Such a great space, with an eclectic charm. It was so easy to move things around to your liking. The facility had everything we needed, an abundance of tables/chairs, and their own furniture which we used as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience with Luke and his team, and will definitely keep them in mind for our future events!

The Best Events for a Studio Space

Giggster is here to bridge the gap between hosts and their clients by listing a selection of studio rentals. Our recommendations of different studio options for diverse projects can inspire your decision to rent a space like 387 studios.

  • Film Studios – Screen Productions. Do you want to work efficiently and stay on schedule when filming your movie, TV show, or advertisement? Creating content in a soundproofed film studio with all the required production equipment will do the trick. Most soundstages also provide in-house crew services, including pre- and post-production support.

  • Black Void Studios – Documentary Interviews. A void studio has an overhead lighting grid, changeable paper backdrops, or cyclorama walls. It creates the perception of emptiness, highlighting the subject by minimizing surrounding distractions. You can use the shell or void as a background for documentary interviews, editorial photoshoots, and recording visuals for music releases.

  • Art Studios – Workshops. Every city has a community of artists and art lovers who regularly join hands for a good cause or skills exchange program. Art studios can host public art shows, workshops, and sip-and-paint parties. This space typically has easels, chairs, and varied art supplies necessary for such creative functions.

  • Standing Sets – Movie Shoots. Most production studios or soundstages have standing sets depicting everything from hospital rooms to jail cells and house interiors. These filming venues are ideal for movie and photo shoots requiring flexible spaces that mirror real-life places. A studio is often soundproofed and has adjustable lighting, which can quicken the filming process.

  • Creative Spaces – Music Videos. Are you producing visuals for your upcoming song and want a colorful venue for some sequences? A creative studio fits the bill. This space has themed backdrops featuring furniture and props, and a green room you can use for different scenes.

Top Features to Look for in a Studio

Artists know that creating content in the right space guarantees the expected output. Our top essentials list can help you decide whether to book a production studio with all the bells and whistles or an on-location film shoot venue.

What production equipment does the studio have? Giggster has a selection of art studios and other production venues with the required film equipment and other necessities. Scroll through the app and discover a space that will enable you to unleash your creativity. You don't have to get any memberships or talk over the phone for long; book a top studio through the Giggster app within minutes.

Pay attention to the add-ons. Can the studio provide concierge services to connect with industry professionals and other resources? Is the opening time flexible? Does the rental charge include production equipment and technical support?

Can you customize the production set? Customizing a studio is the best way to bring your ideas to life and capture real-world settings for different scenes. Some studios have pre-built sets, but you can transform them into ideal shoot backdrops using props and other additions.

Things to Consider When Renting Creative Spaces

Artists know that production takes time and effort, starting with finding filming locations to bring their ideas to life. Video studios are an all-in-one solution, providing access to cameras, lighting, and sound equipment. Learn more about how a studio can benefit your project and how to navigate different challenges the venue might present.

Advantages

  • Studios are professional and creative platforms where artists can create their best work. Giggster can connect you with suitable art studios and production settings.

  • Many studios are centrally located along main streets, allowing for maximum visibility.

  • Production studios create a sense of community, and every professional enlisted to work on a project leaves feeling like they are part of a small but powerful team.

Disadvantages

  • You must apply for street parking permits for production vehicles. City permit requirements vary, and the local film office is the best resource to learn more about the application process.

  • Artists usually have limited control over structural changes. Some studios might restrict you to using in-house equipment and services.

  • Studios have strict opening and closing schedules, especially when renting by the hour. You'll have to pay additional charges for the extra time spent in the space.

Budgeting for a Creative Space Production

Studios can shave a chunk off your production budget. Still, there are more ways to reduce filming costs, starting with renting an affordable studio. Giggster can assist with this; explore our versatile studios using pricing filters to locate affordable production spaces. After booking an ideal production backdrop, use these suggestions to run a productive and cost-effective set.

Timing matters.

Scheduling your shoot is perhaps the most important aspect of the location search process. Most listings on Giggster have peak and off-peak pricing, with bookings during the week costing less than weekend reservations.

Search both in and beyond the downtown area.

The downtown area in most cities usually has conveniently located studios, but they are also among the costliest options. A small search through our website or app can yield grand results, with choices to explore in every neighborhood throughout your preferred area.

Get Giggster's optional event liability insurance.

After checkout, you can purchase our optional liability plan. It's one of the permit application requirements in most cities, and it will cover you if anything unexpected happens when producing your film.
