A very cool home! Very bare bones (minimal pool furniture, no bench on tennis court), but great views and a lot of space. A little confusing to figure out how to get down to the tennis court and the path down would not be great for loading in a ton of equipment, but all manageable. I would book again!

The Best Events for a Tennis Court Location

A beautiful court in Beverly Hills or NYC catches your eye? You'll be pleased to know that tennis courts aren't just those big, flat, fenced spaces for tennis lovers; they can also be used for all sorts of events, and we'll cover some of them in this guide.

  • Fitness Events – Get in Shape. Let's start with the obvious. Since a tennis court is a sports facility, it makes sense to host any fitness-related event there. There's plenty of space for drills and fun obstacle courses, and you can have a dance class or a yoga session in the open air.

  • Birthday Parties – Fun and Engaging Celebrations. Who says birthday bashes have to be at a restaurant or event center? A tennis court offers a huge area for kids (and even the young at heart) to run around, play games, and let loose. More than the court itself, many of Giggster's venues have other amenities like swimming pools, gardens, and backyards to accommodate as many guests as possible.

  • Community Meetups – Lively Atmosphere. Do you need a spot for the neighborhood to hang out and chill? Transform a tennis court near you into a relaxing community hub. Set up picnic blankets or tables for food, build a stage for a live performance, or just have a wide, open space for everyone to chat and get to know each other.

  • Team Building – Strengthen Bonds. Get your team out of the office building and into the court. You could organize fun tennis tournaments even if none of you have ever played before, or have fitness challenges and games that will get people to work together and communicate.

  • Photo/Video Shoots – Your Creative Playground. Have you got sports-related content to shoot, or do you need cool visual elements? Whether you're shooting a sporty fashion editorial, a dynamic music video, or even just some cool lifestyle content, a tennis court can be a really interesting and versatile location for a photo or film shoot. You've got built-in angles and a generally bright and airy feel.

Top Features to Look for in a Tennis Court

Tennis courts are way more versatile than you might think, but you can't just choose the first location you find. They may all have the same dimensions but differ in many ways, so pick the best one that works for your event or project.

What's the surface condition? You won't want a court with cracks and uneven patches, whether you're using it for a shoot, tournament, practice session, or an event. A well-maintained surface is not only safer but also looks better for any kind of event.

Is it spacious enough? A full court may not be enough for a crowd, or too big for your small group. Apart from the number of people, you also have to factor in the activities you planned.

How easy is it for guests to get there? You don't want them to get lost before the fun even starts, so explore locations that are easily accessible for everyone. It doesn't have to be in the heart of the city; just ensure there are public transport options nearby and it's easy to find.

Pros and Cons of Events at Tennis Court Locations

A tennis court is probably not on your top list of event venues, unless you're planning a fitness- or sports-related activity. But before you skip this unique location, it's important to understand its hidden potential and whether it aligns with your event or project goals.

Advantages

  • For the most part, tennis courts are nice and level, which makes it easy to dance, set up equipment, or just walk around the space.

  • You have this big, open area, which is great for anything where people need to spread out, like kids' birthday parties and fitness events.

  • The lines on the court can be very handy for organizing games and races, setting up obstacle courses, or just identifying different zones.

Disadvantages

  • Unless you found an indoor tennis court, the intense heat and rain can put a damper on your event. You must have a backup plan or keep a close eye on the weather forecast.

  • Tennis courts are usually just open spaces without any extras, so you'll have to bring your own tables, chairs, or tents if you need shade.

  • A flat, hard surface is not ideal for all activities, especially if people will sit on the ground for a long time.

How to Plan a Tennis Court Event

Have you found a good tennis court location and wonder how to make the most of the space for your next event or film shoot? Let's dive into some ideas on how to bring your creative idea to life.

Define Your Event – What kind of party or shoot is it, and what vibe are you going for? No matter what it is—be it a laid-back community get-together, a grand milestone party, an elegant soiree, or a corporate shoot—choose a location that matches your vision.

Pick a Day and Time – Choose a date that works best for most attendees and think about the best time of the day, especially if there are no indoor spaces nearby where you can take shelter in case of rain or intense heat.

Find the Perfect Location – Most communities or neighborhoods have their own sports facilities that may include a tennis court. The one near your area is probably ideal because it's easy to get to, but explore other options as well. You never know what hidden gems are waiting for you.

Do You Need a Permit? – Before you set up and prepare for activities or the shoot, check if you need permissions or a permit to hold an event or film on the court. You probably won't need a permit to host a party in a private tennis court, but it's always best to ask.

How to Save Money on a Tennis Court Location Rental

Do you need to rent a tennis court, but the budget is tight? Keep reading for smart money-saving hacks that will keep your wallet happy.

Does it have to be at a prime spot?

Tennis courts in prime locations or at well-known clubs are perfect because they're easy to get to and close to everything, but the problem is that they often cost more. If you want to find budget-friendly options, you must be willing to go a little outside the main hub and travel a little.

Don't be afraid to haggle a little.

It never hurts to ask if there are any discounts available, especially if you're renting for a longer time or if you plan on being a repeat customer. Be friendly and see what they can do. The worst thing that could happen is they say no!

Keep it simple.

Avoid any extra services or add-ons you don't need. If you can bring your own tables, chairs, or decorations, that can cut down on costs.
