This is an amazing property that photographs beautifully. The host was wonderful and the location couldn't have been better for our shoot. The lake and property surrounding the house can be photographed in endless ways and the house is stunning. Absolutely worth the drive from Los Angeles to shoot there.

I recently enjoyed visiting Hudson Valley Alpaca & Horse Farm, which was an incredible experience. Leda and her partner's impeccable hospitality truly stood out. The team was not only professional but also incredibly supportive throughout our shoot. They provided complimentary snacks and coffee, which were a pleasant surprise and helped maintain high energy levels on set. Moreover, the team went above and beyond to understand our goals and helped us realise them. The shoot went smoothly with their assistance, and the results were terrific. In terms of location, it's arguably the best shooting spot in New York. The picturesque setting and the beautiful alpacas and horses added charm to our shoot. I highly recommend Hudson Valley Alpaca & Horse Farm to anyone looking for a professional and supportive environment for their shoots. It was indeed a remarkable experience.

This property is beautiful, very well kept, and large enough for any event. We had so much gorgeous outdoor space for our shoot. Neighborhood is quiet and it was very nice to have street parking. Margie was fantastic, responsive, & helpful. She went above and beyond to help us to have an easy and great booking. Could not reccommend enough for parties or filming!!

What a beautiful venue! I was truly welcomed with open arms and even given a lift via four wheeler to the area for the video shoot! Incredible hospitality! The cantina was super cute, the pictures don’t show the back side which has tables and additional areas to record The pricing was incredibly reasonable especially for independent artist like myself whom pay out our own pockets for everything we do- I was able to knock out 2 videos and a mini photo shoot

The Best Production Locations in San Antonio

San Antonio is a city located in South Texas, within the Texas Hill Country. The Alamo City is respected for contributing to the Spanish-American War. It borrows influences from Mexico, resulting in its world-famous Tex-Mex food. We must mention the San Antonio River Walk, the landscaped waterfront stretch featuring hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs.

San Antonio is as creative as Houston, Austin, and other nearby cities, producing high-quality photos and award-winning screen content. "Spy Kids," a riveting tale about a family of secret agents, and "The Getaway," a dark Warner Bros. story about a wealthy rancher's daughter, featuring Ali MacGraw and Steve McQueen as the title characters, are among the list of screen gems produced in town.

Industry professionals are always looking for properties with unique features, and this cinematic city delivers. Are you ready to record your family drama, documentary, or big-screen thriller? Giggster can help you book standout filming locations in San Antonio.

Choosing the Right Type of Location for a Screen Production in San Antonio

You can browse the San Antonio locations on our website to find a film location that can bring your creative vision to life, like our Medical Center Meeting Room. If you need help deciding which production setting to rent, our recommendations for the top video recording spaces can inspire your choice.

  • Creative Studios – Music Videos. A creative studio with lights, cameras, and other filming essentials is designed for content creation. It has a versatile layout and changeable paper backdrops, enabling you to customize it as required.

  • Family Homes – Movie Scenes. A family home is the most realistic setting for recording movie scenes depicting daily life. A typical house provides a kitchen, back or front yard, bedrooms, and a living room, offering multiple recording backdrops.

  • Cyclorama Stages – Photo Shoots. Cyc stages are curved spaces with an all-white or one-colored backdrop, creating the perception of depth. The location can produce most screen content, and it's ideal for capturing fashion photos or product promotional images.

  • Ranch Locations – Western Movie Shoots. Rustic ranch settings are quintessential Western filming backdrops. They usually feature barns, saloons, and other Old West structures, alongside massive tracts of land perfect for recording horseback sequences and action scenes.

  • Auditoriums – Film Events. An auditorium is a befitting location for an awards event, screening, or premiere. The venue features projection equipment and has good sound capabilities. It also has auditorium-style seating, providing a clear view of the screening area from anywhere in the room.

Planning Your Film Shoot in San Antonio

Pre-production determines a screen project's success. San Antonio has top filming locations, and we're your go-to for the best space. Once you have the perfect video shoot setting, use these tips to run an efficient set and stay on track.

Tell a Story – The most compelling films have a storyline that ties in with the locations. That is where Giggster comes in; you can explore multiple listings across Texas and beyond to find movie settings that align with your theme and can bring your vision to life.

Get Permits Early – Filming on public property, and generally in most places, requires a permit. Consult the San Antonio Film Commission website to find out what requirements you need to meet for the application process, and start early enough.

Assemble Your Team – A film set requires a team of technical and creative professionals. In most cases, you'll need a producer, director, cinematographer, lighting technician, and talent. It depends on the project scope and scale, but you might need more hands on deck.

Lease Film Equipment Early – Most production locations on Giggster provide basic film equipment, including lights, cameras, and sound gear. It's best to lease specialized equipment needed early.

How to Save Money on Your Film Shoot in San Antonio

Film production is expensive, but depending on your decisions, you can spend less or more. Giggster is your first cost-saving measure; we can help you find an affordable photo shoot or video location. Here are other ways to produce a screen gem without going over budget.

Rent a studio for some of the production.

A professional film studio has all the recording equipment and technical support you'll need. Producing screen content in such a setting is affordable, especially if the location has changeable backdrops, a green screen, and standing sets.

Lease filming gear.

You may need specialized cameras and lights other than what the studio provides. Leasing is often more cost-effective than buying, and in most cases, the gear comes with complimentary technical support or professional services at a discounted rate.

Negotiate the rental price.

Giggster's filming locations have varying rates based on the activity. The rental price is negotiable; you can message the host and ask for custom pricing. Note that crew services and equipment rental are often add-ons that attract additional fees.
